Central Queensland University joins Enterprise North
Enterprise North President and Executive Manager and former Cairns Mayor Kevin Byrne has welcomed Central Queensland University (CQU) to the membership of Enterprise North.
“Central Queensland University has established a strong, vibrant and responsive presence in Cairns and the region and is well respected as a CAN DO institution so it is great to have them on-board. They enjoy a respected presence here in Cairns ”
“Enterprise North and its members are keen to establish Cairns as a regional education hub and placing an increased focus on growing an international student market. Our proximity to these markets is a great advantage and I am sure CQUniversity will have a lot to offer in terms of business models and knowledge.”
“International education services are a major export earner for Australia and the growing presence of CQUniversity in the local economy and various communities in the north is appreciated and has been warmly embraced and we see the opportunities only growing in the years ahead” he said.
CQUniversity’s Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Scott Bowman said that he was excited about this new partnership and working with other high profile organisations in the region to further boost economic development.
“CQUniversity has grown significantly in the region over the past five years and we hope to work with Enterprise North and other member organisations to drive new opportunities and advocate for the region so we are delighted to have the opportunity to be a member organisation of Enterprise North and we look forward to working with local communities and industry to deliver important courses and research” said Professor Bowman.
